Horatio Holloway

I am a designer/maker/artist based in South East London. Horatio Makes started as a place to showcase the furniture and lampshades I design and make.

Whilst travelling in Japan I encountered the making of Isamu Noguchi paper light sculptures and was captivated by their beauty, simplicity, and the warmth they provide as they glow.

This inspired me to develop my own designs, explore new shapes and push the limits of the process.

My inspiration comes from the natural world, it’s shapes and textures.

I have a background in furniture making and art history. Studying art history at the University of Sussex and furniture making at the Boat Building Academy in Lyme Regis. I currently work as a maker for Anselm Fraser Design, while developing my paper lantern designs.

I would love to discuss a bespoke commission with you.
